Hagerman was subjected to a grueling two-day interview and Q&A process and emerged as the top candidate.

In addition, Beta Beta Sigma at Napa Valley College will be lucky to have Christopher as President Emeritus for the chapter to guide next year's board as he gains knowledge of the region.

2nd Annual Taste of World Religions Forum

Napa Valley College's honor society, Phi Theta Kappa, held the second annual "Taste of World Religions" forum on Friday night, November 29th. As was the case last year, every seat in the cafeteria was filled to listen to the featured speakers. The forum was moderated by Professor Peter Allen. Representatives included (in order of appearance), Rabbi Steve Vale, from the Jewish Community Center of Solano County; Charlie Toledo, representing the Suscol Intertribal Council; Said Mansour, from the Santa Rosa Islamic Center; High Priest Stuart Walkenhorse, from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Napa; Jordan Parker, from Soka Gakkai International; and Reverend Timothy Whiseant, representing Pentecostal Evangelists.

The evening began with each speaker describing the religious and spiritual beliefs they represented. The aim of the forum and the speakers was to dispel stereotypes and misunderstandings among the various groups. An intriguing question and answer period followed the speakers, and many participants stayed long after the event ended at 8:30 to continue to discuss the many ideas brought up. Most speakers also had further representatives and materials at individual tables for the audience.

Everyone also enjoyed the snacks and other refreshments provided by donations from Starbuck's, Raley's, Costco, Vallerga's Market, Safeway Stores, Lucky's and the Inner Club Council of Napa Valley College.

The Phi Theta Kappa board worked tirelessly behind the scenes to prepare and hold this event. Both Christopher Hagerman (Phi Theta Kappa president) and Chris Adams (Executive Vice President) spoke before and after the event and were instrumental in the planning. Ami Breshears, Shauna and Courtney Hagerman, Afifa Butt, Lora Benin, Katelyn McLeod, Tamera Nunyabeesnis as well as student volunteers planned, bought and hauled in the food and drink as well as set up the entire event. Advisors Cathy Gillis and Andrea Bewick were also on hand. Congratulations to everyone who participated and/or volunteered to make this event a success!
